People say that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. However, this doesn’t have to be your reality. One of the biggest reasons why lawns are anything but lush and green is the presence of fungus.
Although some grasses may benefit from most fungi in lawns, there are certain disease-causing lawn fungi that you need to watch out for. Unfortunately, this harmful type of fungus is almost always present in lawn soil. With the right conditions, these fungi will be activated to destroy your turfgrass.
In case you’re not aware, the fungus is a disease that results from certain changes in the weather and temperature. It can also be caused by extended periods of moisture because of uneven ground, incorrect irrigation.
Furthermore, your turfgrass’ exposure to high heat may also make it more susceptible to fungal infections because it reduces your grass’s ability to fight diseases. In other words, fungi will creep into your lawn once it gets exposed to wet and humid conditions.

When the disease comes out, the fungus becomes noticeable. For instance, you may be able to spot patches that come in different colors, shapes, and sizes. Some of these patches may start to look like they’re yellow until they change to tan and brown. Furthermore, fungi can also present themselves as mushrooms.
